  Comment: Por published Maccabeus tentaculatus "n. gen., n. sp." in July 1973. While Salvini-Plawen first mentions Chaetostephanus praeposteriens "gen. et sp. nov." in May 1973, the name was not published with a description until 1974, so Por's Maccabeus tentaculatus (gen. and sp.) has precendence. However, the family name Maccabeidae Por and Bromley (1974) was published after the Slavini-Plawen (1974) paper in which the family Chaetostephanidae was named, giving Chaetostephanidae seniority
