  Comment: Banks et al. (2004) note: Within the Caribbean Territories the population of Iguana iguana in the U.S. Virgin Islands appears to be native, but there is good indication that this population is the result of a prehistoric human introduction; however, the population of Iguana iguana on Puerto Rico is the result of a recent introduction
