 Comments

Comment: Woodley (2002:410) notes that Baly's work including Wallacea was published on 12 February 1859, while Doleschall's paper coining Wallacea in the ditptera dates to 14 April 1859, so Wallacea Baly, 1859 is the senior homonym of the dipteran Wallacea Baly, 1859. Additionally, it is senior to the name recently used for the genus, Pistosia Weise, 1905, and should be the valid name as used by Borowiec & Sekerka (2010:383). Staines' online Catalog of the hispines of the world had not yet adopted this view as of late 2011
