  Comment: Fabricius (1780:229) gives the name Pycnogonum grossipes, but does list in synonymy Phalangium grosspies, citing what is clearly Linnaeus (1767:1027, see https://biodiversitylibrary.org/page/462493 ). It is unclear to ITIS whether Fabricius' name should be considered a new combination of Linnaeus', or if there is some issue with the availability of that earlier name, or perhaps that it is unidentifiable or otherwise dubious. There are apparently questions about some of Linnaeus' claims, but that may be nomenclaturally irrelevant unless the identity of the earlier name is in doubt
