 Comments

Comment: This taxon was first described as Mesoporodrilus asymmetricus by Frank Smith (1896, p. 402); it was transferred to the genus Eclipidrilus by Michaelsen (1901, p. 149); according to Cook (1971 p. 249), 'The description of this species was apparently based on two individuals, one of which was n bad condition and probably immature. As far as the author [Cook] is aware, this species has not been seen since 1896'; the works of Wassell (1984) and Fend (2005) should be consulted for additional information on this genus
