  Comment: Recent classifications (e.g., Rogers 2000) place the cladocerans and the monotypic Cyclestheriidae within Cladoceromorpha (which is treated as an infraorder in Brusca & Martin in Brusca et al. 2016). Rank limitations would only leave room at ranks 'section' and 'subsection' before reaching superfamily, so it is not yet clear whether or not the former suborder Cladocera should then be treated as a section with its former infraorders as subsections. ITIS will review this in a future update covering the cladocerans, but for the moment the cladoceran families are placed directly under infraorder Cladoceromorpha, along with Cyclestheriidae
