 Comments

Comment: A brief search of the literature as of mid-2006 reveals only two references to this species. The original description spells the epithet "ramazzotti" and notes that it is dedicated to Dr. Giuseppi Ramazzotti. Guidetti & Bertolani (2005) list it as "ramazzottii", without comment. The species was also listed in Ramazzotti & Maucci (1983), but this reference is no longer at hand to check. It is unclear at this point whether or not this change represents a justified emendation under the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1999)
