  Comment: Depending on the author, Echiuroidea has been used for either Order or Class rank (see Anker et al., 2005). However, ITIS follows more recent works that find the echiurans to be within the polychaetes (although we still await the productiuon & stabilization of an updated classification with traditional ranks that include Echiura, Sipuncula and the former Pogonophora & Vestimentifera within Polychaeta)
