 Comments

Comment: Jäch et al. (2016) argue that the (2014) online electronic publication of Hydora musci Lamber, Maier & Leschen was not valid due to a requirement that the electronic publication method assures 'widely accessible electronic copies with fixed content and layout' (Art. 8.1.3.2, as emended, from 2012), based on a claim that PDF/A 'does not assure fixed content and layout.' Nevertheless, the ICZN has specifically given PDF/A as an example (in the emended Code) that 'allows content and layout to be preserved unchanged,' so the 2014 online publication date should probably be accepted over the 2015 date noted by Jäch et al. (which is based on when the hardcopy article was published)
