  Comment: Turgeon et al. (1998) cite Buccinum castaneum castaneum Dall, 1877 as the type for the genus Volutopsion. The species is therefore also treated likewise. No mention is made of B. c. incisulum Dall, 1919, so until this is sorted out, we leave it attached to the genus Buccinum
