 Comments

Comment: Status: IUCN - Endangered as O. thibetana huangensis
Comments: Subgenus Ochotona. Formerly considered a subspecies of thibetana (Allen, 1938; Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1955; Feng and Zheng, 1985; A. T. Smith et al., 1990). Yu and Zheng (1992b) first suggested full species status for huangensis, based on differing morphology, and later (Yu et al., 1997, 2000) supported this with molecular studies. O. huangensis appears to be broadly sympatric with O. thibetana, but largely allopatric in distribution with O. cansus and O. thomasi
