Schultes (TSN 193443) in ITIS represented a misapplication of the name to specimens correctly identified as Bambusa glaucescens (Willd.) Sieb. ex Munro (TSN 193441); however, B. glaucescens is now recognized as a synonym of the correctly applied name, Bambusa multiplex (Lour.) Raeusch. ex J.A. & J.H.
