 Comments

Comment: Originally described as Dero borellii by Michaelsen (1900, p. 522), he later (Michaelsen, 1927, p. 369) placed this taxon in the genus Aulophorus Schmarda (1861); this species was then placed in the genus Dero when the genus Aulophorus was relegated to subgeneric status by Sperber (1948, p. 158-) when she attempted to provide clarity and organization of the confusing history of this genus throughout the literature, and in particular, the divisions of described and rediscribed taxa in this genus, and their assignments to the subgenera Dero (Dero), Dero (Allodero), and Dero (Aulophorus)
