  Comment: Harlan's name is variously dated to 1825 or 1826. In two bound examples of Vol. X (cover date February 1826, composed of no. 1 & no. 2) that were examined there was no conclusive evidence of the date of publication of the two sections. The former contains a letter noted as received on Oct. 15, 1825, and the latter contains a letter dated Jan. 24, 1826. Vol. X, no. 1 was probably published in 1825, but in the absence of clear evidence ITIS follows Frost in using 1826  
    Originally as "Rana utricularius" (fide Frost, 2019, Amphibian Species of the World 6.6), but there was a mandatory correction for gender concordance (e.g., Rana sphenocephala utricularia, as used by Crother et al., 2000)
