  Comment: Originally described at the rank of form, as Macrobiotus occidentalis f. striata (sic). Any name originally published after 1960 as a variety or a form is unavailable from that work due to ICZN (1999) Article 15.2. Such names may be made available in the earliest subsequent work up until 1999 (it takes authorship and year from that later work) that (1) used it as a full species or subspecies, and (2) gave a description directly or indirectly (e.g., via bibliographic citation).
