  Comment: See Nelson (2006). The ICZN ruled in 1976 (Opinion 1046) that since the original fish family name spelling Drepanidae Gill 1972 was a junior homonym of the lepidopteran family name Drepanidae Boisduval 1828, the fish name should be considered an "incorrect original spelling," and corrected it to Drepaneidae Gill 1872
