  Comment: CITES: Appendix II under Cyathea, per 2011 Checklist of CITES Species Part 1 CITES species index published with amendments to the Appendices and changes in standard scientific nomenclature following the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (Doha, 2010). For current status see CITES.org  
    Janssen & Rakotondrainibe (2007) treat the basionym, Alsophila bullata Baker, as a doubtful species, noting that the holotype material is ambiguous ('may corrrespond to at least five taxa'), and the choice of an epitype would be highly arbitrary. Instead, they remove it as a 'doubful species' and designate a new name for the taxon, Cyathea boiviniiformis Rakotondr. & Janssen
