  Comment: The combination Cyrtandra elliptica was published twice by H. St. John: validly in 1979 (Pacific Sci. 33: 387) and as an illegitimate homonym in 1987 (Phytologia 63: 497). C. elliptica H. St. John, 1979 is a synonym of Cyrtandra confertiflora (Wawra) C.B. Clarke; C. elliptica H. St. John., nom. illeg. 1987 is a synonym of Cyrtandra lysiosepala (A. Gray) C.B.
