  Comment: Described as a monotypic genus, meaning 'hidden phallus', with type species Phallocryptus salinicola (now a junior synonym of P. wrighti), the species epithet meaning something to the effect of dweller-in-saline-waters (from Salinas Grandes in Argentina).
