 Comments

Comment: Genus name was originally spelled Bothrioneuron when the genus and species were described by Stolc, in 1886; the spelling of the genus was corrected by Michaelsen (1900). Please note that, throughout the literature, 'Stolc, 1888' has most commonly (and incorrectly) been assigned to this taxon; in actuality, the currect publication year for this taxon should be: Stolc, in 1886
Originally in 'Bothrioneuron' (Stolc 1886, 1888), then corrected by Michaelsen (1900) to 'Bothrioneurum.' The corrected spelling appears to be in 'prevailing usage' so regardless of the justification, it would be allowed under ICZN Art. 33.2.3.1
