  Comment: Mandatory correction for gender concordance; Neoromicia has at times been treated as masculine but, as it derives from the feminine name Romicia, is correctly treated as feminine (Riccucci and Lanza, 2008)  
    Some additional research is needed. There is apparently no holotype of Vesperus humbloti A. Milne-Edwards 1881, although a type series appears to exist. If humbloti is to be recognized as a valid subspecies here then it also needs to take priority for the species name (so other subspecies would require new trinomials as well). Some have advocated treating it as a full species, instead
