 Comments

Comment: Occasionally in the older literature, taxa were described as new to sciece in two (or more?) publications, often in different years; the species Limnodrilus silvani was described in Eisen (1879, p. 19) and again in Eisen (1886, p. 897); several other taxa in this ITIS compilation by MJWetzel were similarly first described by Eisen (1879), and then again reported as new taxa in Eisen (1886); a comment similar to this one has been included for those taxa; the genus Spirosperma Eisen, 1879 was emended by Brinkhurst (1981); see Brinkhurst (1971, p. 471) for further comment
