    Comments: Reviewed by Rosevear (1969), Van der Straeten and Verheyen (1981), and more recent reports cited in the above species accounts. Morphologically closely related to P. misonnei, P. morio, and P. rostratus. Grubb et al. (1998) reviewed populations in the Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Ghana.
