  Comment: See comments by Peterson on Zoonomen website (posted 2007, accessed 2015): 'It appears to me that the systematic problem with this species is great, and resolution of the nomenclatural issues must await progress on the systematic front. The Gould xanthornus name may well be the appropriate one for this population, but only if manimbe Lichtenstein is shown to be a synonym of humeralis Bosc, and not a senior synonym of xanthornis Gould'
