 Comments

Comment: Although Ochteridae was established in 1906, and Gelastocoridae in 1897, Ochteridae's priority dates to 1815, as it was an unnecessary replacement name for Pelogonidae Leach 1815 (due to the junior synonymy of its type genus Pelogonus Latreille 1809 under Ochterus Latreille 1807). Under ICZN Art. 40.2, Ochteridae has priority over Gelastocoridae at all family group ranks (from superfamily to subtribe). See also Stys & Jansson (1988)
