  Comment: "Wilson and Heiser use the term "huauzontle" to refer... to the full complex of Chenopodium nuttaliae crops... they conclude that it is most closely related to the wild Chenopodium berlandieri complex... They therefore combine two species, Chenopodium nuttalliae Safford and Chenopodium pueblense H.S. Reed, as one subspecies, Chenopodium berlandieri ssp. nuttalliae (Saf.) Wilson and Heiser. The new nomenclature includes all three crops, or cultivars as Wilson and Hieser classify them." (Glore, 2006)
