  Comment: Aloe horombensis J.-P. Castillon (Castillon, 2014) is listed as nom. illeg. superfl. in IPNI (2015), but J.-P. Castillon maintains that Aloe subacutissima is different from Aloe horombensis (Ronell Klopper, pers. comm., 2015). This situation has yet to be resolved definitively
