  Comment: Although sources like Schatz et al. (2011) treat the Astigmata (Astigmatina) as nested within the Oribatida, ITIS is for now retaining a classification placing the Astigmata next to the Oribatida in order to facilitate updates to these groups separately. They are still treated separately by most specialists as a practical matter
