 Comments

Comment: Burch (1989:80) states 'The author of Elimia virginica is Gmelin (1791) rather than Say (1817). Say's (1817) "Lymnaea" virginica is Elimia livescens (Menke 1830).' This mis-application or mis-attribution is found in a number of sources, e.g., Johnson et al. (2013) and Turgeon et al. (1988, 1998)
