  Comment: Ben-Dov (1993:59-60) argued that Ceroplastes vinsonii Signoret, 1872 is likely the same species as C. floridensis Comstock, 1881, but that the junior name is so well known while the senior name is largely unused, so the junior name should be retained for the sake of stability. It is unclear exactly which clause of the ICZN (the Code) could be invoked to do so, and there is no evidence that a case for it has been submitted to the Commission
