  Comment: Sphecodes ruficrus Dalla Torre, 1896 (now as Sphecodes monilicornis (Kirby, 1802) (TSN 760024)) is a junior primary homonym of Sphecodes ruficrus (Erichson, 1835) (TSN 760094). S. ruficrus Dalla Torre, 1896 was published as a replacement name for Sphecodes gibbus rufipes Sichel, 1865 (originally published, on pages 411 and 428, at the rank of subvariety as Sphecodes gibbus var. ephippium subvar. rufipes), a junior primary homonym of Sphecodes rufipes Smith, 1853 and Sphecodes rufipes Schenck, 1867 (page 319)
