  Comment: Turdus nigrirostris Karelin in Beketov and Bogdanov, 1875 is a senior homonym of Turdus nigrirostris Lawrence, 1878  
    The name nigrirostris was posthumously published in 1875 by Beketov and Bogdanov in a review that included a list birds of the Ural-Cossack region created by Karelin, including descriptions of new species. Turdus nigrirostris on page 288 (number 117 on the list) is described as 'Similar to the Siberian [thrush], but distinguished by the lack of a white eye-brow', and Deignan (1951) argues the name is valid, competes for priority, and provides a replacement name for Turdus nigrirostris Lawrence, 1878
