 Comments

Comment: Although the original spelling is commonly given as "Ambystoma Krausei," in fact Peters (1882:145) spelled the name combination originally as "Amblystoma Krausei n. sp." According to Frost (2019, website) the generic spelling has since been placed on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Names in Zoology (Opinion 649, 1963)
