  Comment: According to the statement in Prasad et al. (1997): the family name Eupodiscaceae Kuetzing (1849) was originally based on the generic name Eupodiscus (=Tripodiscus germanicus Ehrenberg), a nomen rejiciendum against a conserved name Aulacodiscus Ehrenberg, rather than on Eupodiscus Bailey (1851), nomina conservandum
