  Comment: Ferris (Ill. Fl. Pacific States 4:606, 1960), probably based on the work of Babcock & Stebbins, indicates that the type of this variety is assignable to both Crepis occidentalis Nutt. ssp. conjuncta (Jeps.) Babc. & Stebbins (TSN 37198) and Crepis modocensis Greene ssp. subacaulis (Kellogg) Babc. & Stebbins (TSN 37189), and has likely not yet been lectotypified
