The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature declared Trapezidae Lamy, 1920, to be the approved spelling of the family name (ICZN, 1990, Bull. Zool. Nomencl. 47(3):229, 230) to avoid homonymy with the earlier crustacean family name Trapeziidae Miers, 1886"
