Nelson (1994) lists Caesionidae (as subfamily). The correct spelling should be Caesioninae. However, K.E. Carpenter (Pers. Comm. 2003) feels that ITIS should retain the use of the family name Caesionidae until a more rigorous phylogenetic analysis is applied to this group
