  Comment: In their review of the genus Paranais in North America, as well as other non-North American taxa assigned to this genus and taxa previously assigned to the genus Wapsa, Brinkhurst and Coates (1985) determined that the genus Wapsa was a junior synonym of the genus Paranais, and that the taxon Wapsa mobilis was a junior synonym of Paranais frici Hrabe, 1941
