  Comment: Although senior to zeae (Moulton, 1911), longipennis (Crawford, 1910) was considered a secondary homonym of Scirtothrips longipennis (Bagnall, 1909), and replaced before 1961, and the substitute name (zeae) remains in use, so under ICZN Article 59.3, longipennis is permanently invalid.
