  Comment: The combination Cyrtandra duploserrata was published by H. St. John in 1987 (Phytologia 63: 495), again in 1987 (Phytologia 63: 1987), and in 1988 (Phytologia 64: 487). The 1987 publication is a nom. illeg. and is a synonym of Cyrtandra macrocalyx Hillbr. The 1988 publication is a nom. illeg., based on a specimen and thus combination not made by Hillbrand, and is a synonym of Cyrtandra lysiosepala (A. Gray) C.B. Clarke. The legitimately published earliest homonym is C. duploserrata H. St. John, Phytologia 64: 487. 1988, and is a synonym of Cyrtandra biserrata (see Wagner, Flora of the Hawaiian Islands website, 2011)
