  Comment: Unresolved priority issue shown by Platnick (2012, online World Spider Catalog v12.5). Both Eusparassus argelasius maximus Strand, 1906 and Eusparassus argelasius atlanticus Simon, 1909 are treated as conspecific with Eusparassus dufouri Simon, 1932 (as subspecies therein), yet both are senior to the species name. If this placement is accepted, then according to priority the species should be known as Eusparassus maximus Strand, 1906. However, Platnick (pers. comm. 10/2011) avoids introducing nomenclatural changes regarding subspecies in the catalog unless/until those issues are addressed in the modern literature
