  Comment: In Mammalian Species No. 773, Ovis ammon, Fedosenko and Blank (2005) state that Ovis polii Blyth, 1841 (the original combination of Ovis ammon polii Blyth, 1898) is an unjustified emendation of Ovis poli Blyth, 1840  
    Mammalian Species No. 773, Ovis ammon, Fedosenko and Blank (2005) is in error in stating that Ovis polii Blyth, 1841 (the original combination of Ovis ammon polii Blyth, 1898) is an unjustified emendation of Ovis poli Blyth, 1840; the original 1840 publication was in fact spelled "Ovis polii"
