  Comment: According to the Society for Marine Mammalogy (2018), Inia araguaiaensis Hrbek, Farias, Dutra and da Silva in Hrbek, da Silva, Dutra, Gravena, Martin and Farias, 2014 is unlisted because the study recognizing it was baed on few samples and did not account for the effects of sexual dimorphism within the species
