  Comment: Status: IUCN 2003 and IUCN/SSC Action Plan (2001) - Lower Risk (lc) as Pipistrellus savii  
    Comments: Does not include coreensis, alaschanicus, or velox, see Yoshiyuki (1989) and Horácek et al. (2000). Reviewed in part by Harrison and Bates (1991), Bates and Harrison (1997), and Horácek et al. (2000). See Horácek et al. (2000) for discussion of subspecies limits. Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu (2001) suggested that austenianus may be a distinct species
