  Comment: Timm (1991: 328) considered Branchiobdella digitata Pierantoni, 1906 to be a Cirrodrilus; the species identity is unclear due to a minimal original description and a poor specimen. Gelder (in press, and personal communication, March 2015) provides further details on this, accepts this view and lists it a species inquirenda
