 Comments

Comment: According to Masán & Halliday (2014), the species was originally described and named as 'Pachyseius cavernicola' by Ishikawa (1989). Masán & Halliday, without comment, list the current name as 'Pachyseius cavernicolus Ishikawa, 1989', apparently treating the epithet as an incorrectly-formed adjective, requiring gender correction to match the genus, rather than as an invariable noun or an adjective with common or variable gender (in which case cavernicola, meaning cave-dweller, could be considered both a masculine and feminine form). It is not yet clear which is the proper resolution
