  Comment: Dytiscus impressus Fabricius, 1787 is a junior primary homonym of Dytiscus impressus Müller, 1776. It has also been used in misidentifications and misapplications in various ways (both as D. impressus and as Haliplus impressus), but as properly applied it is regarded as a junior objective synonym of Haliplus ruficollis (De Geer, 1774)
