  Comment: Beron (2020:55) listed 'Ptilonyssus nitzschi (Giebel, 1871)' as if it were valid in that genus, but parenthetically noted it as a nomen dubium. Unfortunately, this name is the type species of the valid genus Vitznyssus Castro, 1948, so it must be accounted for in that genus. Until this is resolved, ITIS will leave the species in its original combination, but as an invalid nomen dubium under Vitznyssus
