  Comment: In the original publication Massy (1917) used two spellings of the epithet; on p. 224 'Clionopsis longicirrata, sp. n.' appeared in a list of species taken in British and Irish waters, and the same appeared in a key on p. 226. The actual description, however, starts on p. 235 with the heading 'Clionopsis longecirrata, sp. n.' Pruvot-fol (1924:361) intentionally uses the spelling 'longecirrata' on p. 361, mentioning the other spelling in a footnote indicating that the first has priority and is preferred. This may qualify as the 'First Reviser' under the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, which would mean that 'longecirrata' is the correct original spelling, and 'longicirrata' an incorrect original spelling. However, the spelling 'longicirrata' is used in recent literature (e.g., van der Spoel, 1976, who lists both spellings but uses 'longicirrata')
