 Comments

Comment: Damgaard et al. (2008) place Tyrannophasma and Praedatophasma in a 'Tyranno-/Praedatophasma clade' which 'would deserve the rank of a separate family following the classification of Mantophasmatodea established in Klass et al.,' although they suggest that further sampling and analysis would be required before doing so. As a result, the family-group name Tyrannophasmatini does not yet have a recognized valid family to which it could be synonymized, so for the moment it is being placed under the order Mantophasmatodea pending further published analysis, e.g., use as a full family, Tyrannophasmatidae Zompro 2005
